This is the third single from our self-titled debut album, which will be released next week. Recorded live in the summer of 2019 in our cave at the Flatterschafft Arts Center in Basel.
We put the poem ‘Regime de Vivre’ to our music. Written around 1671/73 by Lord John Wilmot, the 2nd Earl of Rochester, the libertine bluntly describes his daily routine of whoring, drinking, regurgitating and buggering one’s servants. It is believed that this is the first time the word ‘punk’ appears in a written text.
A libertine is one devoid of most moral principles, a sense of responsibility, or sexual restraints, which are seen as unnecessary or undesirable. Libertinism is described as an extreme form of hedonism. A writer of the profane and lewd, Wilmot died at the age of thirty-three.
